Home Lighting ? Various Options
Lighting your home is a very important aspect, it can make the difference from a room seeming dark and dingy to a room feeling airy and spacious. Most architects are obsessed with light and lighting when they are designing homes and offices because they know it makes such a massive difference on the atmosphere and end result of a building. Of course we are not all architects and we all can’t be as lucky to design and build our own homes but we can make the best of what we have and choosing our home lighting appropriately is a great way to start.
Flush Ceiling Lights – These types of lights are great because they are flush to the ceiling and they do not take up any of the space from within the room. This is perfect if you have low ceilings or if the room is particularly small because you are adding light to the room which will make it look more spacious anyway but if you add the light without taking away any of the space you will doubly add space and light, two birds and one stone as they say.
Decorative Wall Lights – wall lights are a great way of adding extra light to a room as you can still have the main fixture on the ceiling but the added wall lights give it that much more light without crowding the space available. Wall lights give you the option of having some soft lighting within the room as well, such as in the dinning room for a more intimate dinner or in the living room when watching TV. Instead of having the main ceiling light on which gives a lot more brightness you can have the wall lights on which sets the mood to a more relaxing tone. Another great thing about wall lighting is that adding lighting to different levels of the room gives a sense of depth which makes the room feel bigger and airy.
Outdoor Lighting – the outside and entrance to a house really sets the mood and it only takes a few outdoor lights and flower beds to make the appearance of a house look beautiful and well presented. By having outdoor lights it gives a sense of light before you have even entered the house, and so if you are wanting to portray a sense of light and air within the house the best way to start is at the entrance, start as you mean to go on.
